Samuel Ashabranner "Coach Sam"(February 19, 1945 - February 28, 2006) Clyde Samuel “Sam” Ashabranner, 61 of Jacksonville, AR, died at Rebsamen Medical Center in Jacksonville, Tuesday, February 28, 2006. He was born in Waldron, AR to the late H. C. and Elsie Ammons Ashabranner, February 19, 1945. Sam retired from Fleet Tire Service. He was a player and softball coach for many years. Currently he has been the commissioner and a board member for the Jacksonville Youth Softball Program. Survivors include his son, Logan Ashabranner and daughter, Gina Ashabranner both of Jacksonville; a brother, Bobby Ashabranner of Elaine, AR and grandchildren; Noah and Haley Ashabranner. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Moore’s Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Cecil Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Jacksonville Softball Association (Youth Division). P.O. Last year the Lady Devils were
Co-Conference Champions in the 5A East and made to the
top 4 in the State Tournament, in their second year of
fastpitch. This year the Lady Devils return, losing
just 4 seniors, with hopes of another great season. Good Luck
Girls! Play your hearts out!
